Dream Forest Productions was established in 2000 as an independent production house founded by Kenneth Liang, a media industry veteran who spent two decades at MediaCorp during which he ran Channel 5, Suria, and Vasantham. He also held creative senior management positions at the Economic Development Board, Singapore Tourism Board, and SingTel TV.
For over two decades, Dream Forest has created a variety of content that have topped ratings on broadcast media locally and shown on international platforms. We have told the corporate stories of leading government agencies and commercial companies. Our original content productions include drama, sitcoms, documentaries, corporate videos, community stories, children’s programmes, movies and animation.
As a production house, Dream Forest has gained a reputation for compelling storytelling. Our maiden production, “A War Diary”, won several Asian Television Awards. Subsequently, the TV sitcom series, “80’s Rewind“ won a Silver World Medal Silver at the New York Festivals 2008, and “Achar!” a cross-cultural sitcom obtained a Bronze World Medal earlier in 2005. A coming-of-age period drama series, “Fighting Spiders”, received the drama prize at the 2010 Seoul Drama Festival, and the police-themed drama series, “Heartlanders”, was the top-rated show on Channel 5 for four consecutive years running. We co-produced the 36-episode animated series “Dork Hunters from Outer Space” screened on the BBC.
Dream Forest has also produced bespoke content for our partners. We were commissioned by the National Heritage Board to produce the documentary for the launch of the Ford Factory War Museum in 2006; and by the Urban Redevelopment Authority to produce a documentary, “699.1 sq km”, screened in the Singapore pavilion at the 6th Sao Paulo International Biennial of Architecture and Design. Dream Forest also produced 2 feature movies, “Xiao Yu” and “Crossroads”, for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) for world-wide distribution. In 2023,
Dream Forest collaborated with Guru Productions from Australia to produce 13 episodes of “The Garden Gurus: Garden Revolution”. Singapore’s first-ever gardening series on MediaCorp Channel 5.
